Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is the latest game in the Zelda series, this time on the DS handheld.The game follows on directly from The Wind Waker, as a rare Zelda direct sequel.

The game is very DS-centric, and is controlled almost entirely through the touch screen.Movement and sword swipes are all controlled by taps and gestures on the screen.The boomerang is the most unique item, as it requires you to draw its path on the screen.This makes the game feel very fresh, and made me interested in the Zelda series all over again.

The game looks quite good for the DS, as it continues the simplified style of its predecessor.Although the game does have a few small flaws, like the somewhat tedious sailing sections, it is still probably the best experience available on the DS.
