Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon By Mom2One on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
This was a Christmas gift for my son.
Although the Millennium Falcon is a great Lego model it does have many cons.
First it is 985 pieces and it is challenging to build. My son has put together models bigger then this one but he had trouble with this set. The pieces are very fragile as you are building and they can easily fall apart. He had to have help from an adult.
The neat features are the Falcon's roof opens to show control panels and it also has an escape pod. I will warn though that the roof is very senitive and you have to open and close it just right.
The set also comes with some pretty good mini figures: Han Solo, Chewbeeca, C3PO, Snowtrooper and Princess Leia.
When the model is finish it is fairly large, about 16 inches in length. The set itself is fairly realistic to the real Millennium Falcon.
I want to stress this is NOT a toy to play with. It is very fragile. In fact when we were finish building it we went to pick it up and the fall apart right in our hands! Like I said very fragile.
It makes a good addition as a display collector's item but I would not recommend it if a child wants to play with it. It will lead to frustration. I don't want to tell people I won't buy it, beacuse it is a great collector's item just the best thing is to build it, then CAREFULLY place it on a shelf and leave it alone.

Legos are great, but I cannot imagine a 985 piece project! Sounds almost like a jigsaw puzzle! Hope it came with good instructions!!
Honestly, I have never thought of this particular item as one to play with. To me it always has looked to be, like the Death Star version, to be a model for display. I'm sorry your son was disappointed though.
This sounds like quite the challenge to build but I know the end result must look pretty spectacular!!!!
I'll make sure I keep out of the reach of children, but I'd like to have something like that sitting on my shelf. Thanks for the info!!
I have seen this in the store, it looks really cool, but very hard to put together, thanks for the information!
