Reviewing: Le Jour Artist Brushes 5 Pack
Purchased at: Home Depot     Price: $3.97 USD

Dont be fooled by the name. Dont be fooled into thinking these are high quality because they are natural bristle. No serious artist would use these, but if you need some small brushes for a non-precision job, or for your kids, these might be a good selection.

I picked up this package of brushes at Home Depot. They are pony hair. There are three flat brushes about 5/8 inch wide, and one 1/4 inch wide. There are two smaller pointed brushes.

The bristles do not hold a nice shape when coated with the paint, so you could probably only paint a nice smooth edge with these the first couple of times you used it.The bristles are not fastened tightly enough in the ferrule and an occasional one will come loose.

After only two washings some of the bristles on the outer layer are starting to splay in odd directions and need to be trimmed.

But at $4 for five brushes, the package offers a nice selection of styles that are a little better than dime store choices. And sometimes you dont want to spend a fortune if you know you are going to seriously abuse a brush and plan to throw it away.
