While this is a cookie jar, and is FDA approved for such use, I only use this cookie jarto store packaged treats.Sometimes when you store cookies inside a cookie jar, the grease from the cookies can discolor the inside of the jar.If you plan on selling this item in the future, or just want to hang onto it for a long time, this could be a problem.
