The Lexmark X2470 All-In-One printer boasts printing, copying, and scanning capabilities. The print feature produces clean, crisp documents quickly, with the ability to print up to 17 pages per minute in black and white or color text.

While photos may be printed using this printer, it is not recommended. The quality of photo printing is mediocre, and certainly not the high quality one would get from a photo printer.

Copying can be accomplished with ease by simply pressing a button on the printer. Black and white documents and photos copy in black and white, and color documents and photos copy in color. The quality of document copies is light but good. Photos copy well, but are certainly not top quality.

Scanning is also simple with the Lexmark X2470 All-In-One printer, requiring the user to press one button on the printer. A window will open up on the computer screen presenting various options to choose from, such as a quality choice between color document, color photo, black and white document, and black and white photo. Scanned items can be saved to the Lexmark Photo Editor as a .jpg file, Acrobat Reader as a .pdf file, Microsoft Paint, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Notepad, WordPad, Clipboard, e-mail or file. Various creative tasks are also available, such as repeating an image several times on one page, enlarging or reducing an image, or printing an image as a multi-page poster.

While this printer will copy and print in both color and black and white, it uses only one toner cartridge. This could be a negative point to those who print a great number of mostly color or mostly black and white items, as the cartridge may need to be replaced while there is still black or color ink still in the cartridge. These people may wish to purchase a printer that uses separate color and black cartridges, as they can be replaced separately.

Overall, the Lexmark X2470 All-In-One printer is a good choice for the home user or small business user. It prints documents clearly and quickly, it effortlessly produces good quality photocopies, and it easily delivers scanned documents that are crisp and clean. However, people who plan to use a printer for a large amount of photo printing and scanning may wish to look into something different.
