Lg Dvd Dn191h Review By jb_shops on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I received this up-converting DVD as a gift and for the first few months was extremely pleased. Picture quality was solid when displayed on my standard definition tv then later on my HDTV. The buttons on the device stopped working, then the player would start skipping (almost like someone was holding down the fast forward button). The playback of all DVDs is hit and miss. I've tried a cleaner, but this did not improve the situation. The remote is nothing special. With about three dozen small buttons, it might be difficult for someone with poor eyesight to use.

Update Posted on :

I had to throw this DVD player away!  I could live with the skipping for a while.  The situation change from an inconvenience (which I could live with for a while) to destruction.  The player started cracking the disks yielding them completely unplayable.   I would stay away from this unit even if it were free.

Wow, that's terrible. Maybe we'll hear from someone else on this model to see if it appears to be a fluke or a real problem.

What a horrible DVD player! I do not understand how it cracks the disks though... Something really wonky is going on in there.

So I finally found something LG made that is total crap.

I am a picky product & service snob. Unfortunately my caviar tastes don't match my catfish budget. I am proud......
