The generic Life brand Spectrum Prenatal/Postpartum vitamin and mineral supplement is an excellent (and cheaper) alternative to taking Materna vitamins. I've used this brand since I found out I was pregnant at 3 months and I continue to take them while breastfeeding my 8 month old son.

The generic Life brand Spectrum Prenatal/Postpartum vitamin and mineral supplement has 13 vitamins and 10 minerals that are important to the growing baby like Folic Acid, Vitamin D, Calcium and Iron, to name a few. Iron is a very important mineral that should be taken during and after pregnancy.

Postpartum this vitamin and mineral supplement has helped to provide me and my baby added nutritional support. It also has decreased the amount of shedding I experienced because my body has a constant level of vitamins and minerals to draw upon. I was able to retain about 80% of the hair growth I experienced during pregnancy.
