My mother-in-law gave my husband and me a Life Wise Color Changing Sound Soother. It makes different sounds that are very soothing when you are trying to fall asleep at night. Some of the sounds include a babbling brooke, the surf, a rainstorm, a train, among others. I find some of the sounds more soothing than others, but they are all nice in their own way.

My husband and I turn this little gadget on every night. It is a white cube and it actually changes color as the sounds transpire. I believe you can also turn the light off, but we like to leave it on. When the room is dark, it's almost like a colorful nightlight, but it is not at all distracting. The Sound Soother runs on AC current, has a volume control, and can be set for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or non-stop.

It was a very thoughtful gift from my mother-in-law, especially since she knows I have trouble falling asleep.
