Lindt Intense Orange Dark Chocolate Definitely Wow! By Joan Young on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

These are one of our favorite treats.

Since hubby had a heart attack a little over a year ago, we've been rationing a little bit of dark chocolate for each day. We love the dark chocolate best anyway, and it's the best for us. That way he doesn't have to feel that he's had to give up chocolate forever.

There is also a mint flavor in the Lindt Excellence Dark Intense 12 oz bars, and it's good, but we like the orange one best. Each bar has 320 calories with 180 of them from fat.

There are little chips of orange and almond slivers in the bar, which is sectioned into eight pieces. And you really can taste the orange. It's like little bursts of citrus as you let the chocolate melt. On our rationing system we've found that 2 squares, or 1/4 of the bar at 90 calories is a very satisfying treat.

The cocoa percent isn't indicated on these, but I'd put it somewhere around 70%. They are dark and creamy but not tending to the bitter edge (we like those too, but if you don't this might be just enough for you).

I watch for these on the markdown table at 81 cents each, but I think they are regularly about twice that much.
