Compact, portable, and solved my problem...that would be the Linksys Wireless-G USB Adapter. I purchased the Linksys Wireless-G router for my upstairs so that I could do away with the ugly cord running from the upstairs computer to the downstairs computer and discovered that I would of course need the USB adapter to go with it. I was, of course, worried about the ease of installation, but had a good experience with the support team when installing my router that my worries were put at ease. Now my downstairs computer is wireless and runs like a charm for the most part. There were a couple of times that I had to pull the USB plug out because of nonconnectivity, but just plugged it back in and it was up and running again within just a few short minutes and the problem was quickly solved. I am very happy with this product and what it enables me to do.

I tried this router with my mom's computer and we could not get it to work. I think it was cable but cable kept saying it was the router. I agree their customer service was great, but we just couldn't get it to install.
