Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse makes the claim that it will whiten your teeth safely as well as kill any bacteria that will give you bad breath.

I've tried different tooth whitening products in the past and I purchased this one in particular because of the brand name and the fact that it was a rinse which is extremely convenient. The directions are that you are to use before brushing and not to use it more than twice a day. I began using the Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse for about a week and noticed that it was working because there was a difference in the color of my teeth. It was also great for fighting the dreaded bad breath. Now for the cons. I realized that after using this rinse, my sense of taste changed. I enjoy spicy foods and found that things were a lot more spicy than usual, so much so I could not eat them. They would burn my mouth. It affected my taste buds in some way. I also found that there was a white slimy substance that would appear in my mouth. I had no clue what this was until I looked on the Internet. It turns out that this is dead skin. It burns off a layer in your mouth and the white substance is the dead skin. I couldn't believe Listerine wouldn't do more testing before releasing this product to the public. I do want white teeth but not at the risk of losing skin or having my sense of taste completely changed. I immediately stopped using this product and will not be using it ever again. I do not recommend this to anyone. Shame on Listerine!
