Little Tikes Universal Remote
By Joss onThe Little Tikes Discover Sounds Universal Remote was an attempt to get a different and interesting toy with interesting learning features for our baby of 9 months. The idea was to get an option to the real home remote control. He still wants to play with the real thing; he only plays with this new toy when we give it to him. The three language feature is great, the lights and the animal and other sounds are fine. On the bad side the white part is painted and easily scratched with your babys teeth. This is a terrible paint job here, this product is not safe. This product intended for 6 months plus babies and made in China is not recommended knowing that a baby wants all in their mouth. This is a very fun toy but on my opinion is for older babies of 1 year and up. Other option is not painting the white part and making it safe for younger babies. Is up to the parents to decide what is more important, safety or fun.

Oh no! I was so excited thinking this was something my little grandson would love. He loves remote controls and alway is looking for his Daddy's remotes to play with. I am sad to find out that it has a bad feature with the paint. He wouldn't probably put it in his mouth...but then again...it's not safe for kids! I don't think I will be looking to buy this now that you have warned me. Thanks for the important information.
We had one of these when my son was little too. It made him feel grown up and just like daddy.
The paint chipping is a big deal for me... These days we cannot be sure that what should be non-toxic is. It just isn't worth it.
This would be a great toy for a child because they do love playing with the tv remote!
Ooooh what a poorly made product! With all of the news media lately about lead being used in paints for children's toys made from China, I would not buy this toy for my baby. Thank-you for the warning!
I would be careful with toys from China because they don't have any restrictions against using lead paints there. Many toy recalls have been due to lead paint.
I agree. My son has this toy and the white paint has started flaking. Since we can't be sure what is in the paint, I have decided to toss this toy in the trash.
