Loew Cornell Shader: The Perfect Paint Brush By Gayle Parks on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Recently I went looking for a paint brush to use on a craft project I was working on. I don't know much about paint brushes so I just chose one in my price range that looked like it would do the job I needed to do. I chose the Loew Cornell Taklon shader brush.
This brush is about 7.5 inches long and has a flat straight edged head which was perfect for painting the wide stripes I wanted to paint. It also held plenty of paint so I was able to get great one stroke coverage. It blended smooth and rinsed clean between colors.
The diameter of this brush was also perfect and I did not feel like I was gripping a toothpick as I was painting. This is important if you tend to have shaky hands are achy finger joints like I sometimes have. The price of this brush was good too at just under $3.00.
This brush is meant for artists that paint on canvas but it was perfect for the small craft job I was using it for, painting wide stripes on a wooden picture frame. It did a great job at a great price.
I was very happy with this brush and will be buying another one the next time I am at the craft store. I highly recommend it. I bought mine at the local Michael's craft store.

Glad you found just the brush you were looking for..
Sounds like it might be a lettering brush, if it was flat with a flat end. I like those a lot too. I think you would have mentioned if it shed bristles (one of my pet peeves with cheap brushes), so perhaps I'll check out this brand.
during my use of this brush (so far) it has not shed any bristles.
Sounds like an excellent brush for those small hard to paint projects, or as Shark says for lettering. At that price, I'll keep 3 or 4 around for when I need them
