Log Home Living Magazine By Melissa Bushman on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Log Home Living magazine is a must-have for anyone considering building or decorating a log home. Regular articles in Log Home Living cover topics related to planning your log home, designing your log home, and decorating your log home.
Some of the articles the August 2008 issue discuss tips on building log homes on sloped lots, creating casual and inviting log home décor, guidelines for selecting the right doors for your log home, and a how to article on choosing the right plants for your landscape. In addition, every issue of Log Home Living magazine includes a large selection of log home floor plans, as well as a listing of log home builders broken down by state. Also included in every issue is a listing of suppliers of products such as lighting, home décor, stair materials, kitchen materials, and bath materials, to name a few.
The one thing about Log Home Living magazine that I find a bit disappointing is that it seems to cater to higher-income individuals. The vast majority of homes featured in Log Home Living are quite large, usually from 3,000 to 5,000+ square feet, and many of the featured décor items are quite expensive. For example, vases featured in the August 2008 issue range in price from $314 to $881. However, do not let this deter you from reading this magazine. Most of the planning, designing, and building advice is helpful to anyone, regardless of income or home size, and the good decorating ideas presented in the magazine can be applied by everyone through the use of frugal shopping.

I had no idea there was a magazine just for log homes! I think a lot of decorating magazines show those uber expensive accessories. They can at least give you an idea of a shape or size of something you might want to fit in a particular space though!
I grew up in a log cabin home and you are right most Log home magazines cater the the higher income individuals.
