Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick
By derwood onMy family owns two of these joysticks.I purchased the first one for myself a couple of years ago, and I recently purchased a second one for use with one of our other computers.
I bought the first one when I upgraded my computer, because my new machine did not include a game port which my previous joystick required. After trying out a couple of different models, I selected this one because it had the features that I was looking for, at a good price.
The joystick itself is very smooth, and has a long range of motion from side to side and top to bottom.I found this to be a good feature with games that require extreme precision, but a drawback when playing fast-paced games that require quick decisive moves.
The joystick includes a variety of buttons, but they were definitely placed with a right-handed person in mind.I find the buttons on the stick itself to be easy to use, but the buttons on the base of the controller are a little too large and spaced a little too closely for my preference.I find that I sometimes need to take my eyes off the screen in order to locate the appropriate button.
The "throttle" control works smoothly, but I feel that it could use a slightly longer range of motion, allowing for more precise adjustments.
Overall, I like this joystick. It suits my purposes well, and has lasted me for a couple of years of light-to-moderate gaming. It might be a nice controller to consider if you're on a budget.
