This is a 5.1 speaker set that sounds awesome. I've had these since 2003 and continue to use them (listening to David Cross right now, actually). This is the only 5.1 set that I've owned and I've had nothing but great experiences with them. The speakers sound great, and are very affordable. All in all I'm a huge fan of most of all of Logitech's products. Unbelievable clairty and volume for the price, and the sub packs quite a punch. I have it about halfway and even the pictures on the walls are shaking! These are all you're ever gonna need for a party, just flip on the computer, spread out the speakers, pop in your favorite CD and let the good times roll! I listen to music when I sleep and I decided to put in some "sounds of nature" music and I felt like I was in the jungle. Then when it started to rain (mind you I only had the speakers turned up a little under half and the sub a little over a 1/4) and the thunder fell it shook my room and bed.

These sound like some powerful speakers! Hope you live in a house and not an apartment....the neighbors would think you were having an earthquake!
Well, I usually just go with the speakers that come with my computer since I don't really need more than basic ones. But these sound really nice.
