Loisville Slugger Tpx By donnabc on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My husband and I purchased this bat for our son when he was about five (a few years ago when he started playing T-ball). Our son is on the short (little) side and most of the bats that the team had just seemed too big for his little body :0) The Loisville Slugger is small, light weight and perfect for a small, young child just starting out. Now, when we decided to buy a bat, since we weren't real sure what to purchase, we went to the baseball supply store here in town for expert advice. I just was not sure about this aluminum thing that the salesclerk showed me, because, during my years of softball (quite some time ago now), I was used to a wooden bat. But I was assured that it was all the rage and he was right...all the other boys had similar bats.

The bat comes in a variety of colors and has a plastic grip around the handle to help prevent slippage.

Sounds like a great starter bat for the kids.

I'll have to remember this brand as my son gets a bit older and gets into sports. Thanks for the info!

Ah! A good old Lousville Slugger. Not wooden like I grew up with, but it sounds like a good bat for your son.
