Reviewing: Ceramic Fu Lu Shou Figures
Purchased at: Flea Market     Price: $120.00 USD

Chinese New Year will be fairly early this year (beginning about Jan 26)..It will be the Year of the Ox.Get your altar ready with beautiful Fu Lu Shou figures.

Fu Lu and Shou are fixtures in many Chinese households and businesses throughout the world. They might be considered the Chinese equivalent of the Three Wise Men.

These ceramic figures are approximately 23 inches tall. They actually come in a wide variety of sizes (from 6 inches to 5 or 6 feet). The 23 inch size does not over power my decor. You can usually find these in Asian Florists, Asian Markets, and on-line.I actually bought mine at an established stall in a flea market.

In the photo below, Fu Lu and Shou are shown from right to left (not the typically western left to right).

Fu represents prosperity. He is holding a ceremonial scepter.

Lu represents position in society and the associated wealth.

Shou represents longevity.Notice that Shou's head looks like a peach (which represents longevity) - he is also holding a peach.Shou has a long white beard (because he is an old dude).
