I was lured into purchasing L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail lipstick because I had a big coupon and was looking for a new, long lasting lipcolor. I really liked the sleek design of the packaging, both the long last lipcolor and gloss overcoat came in a shiny metallic container that also doubled as a mirror.

I was a bit disappointed in the color selection, as there were only about 15 choices, but I wanted to try it. When I got it home to put it on, I realized that this could get messy! The lipcolor is applied with a sponge tip applicator and it seems it is impossible to get just the right amount for your lips. Too much and you have excess glops going over your lip line and not enough and you have to come back to put more on, which seems to rub off the stuff you just put on!

After finally getting my lips colored, I then waited the suggested 2 minutes before putting on the topcoat. I really like the scent/flavor of this topcoat, it isn't icky the way I find other long last brand's top coats to be. My lips looked quite nice when I left the house.

However, upon arriving at my destination about 30 minutes later and using the cool plastic casing as a mirror, I saw the inside parts of my lips had lost most of their color and it was on my teeth! I looked like I just had on some really bright lipliner and that was it. Luckily for me, all it took was a quick trip to the bathroom and one wipe of a paper towel and all that lip color came right off. So much for infallible never fail lipcolor.

I'm hoping to learn not to be lured by shiny packaging and high buck coupons in the future!
