LOST Board Game
By Kakoa onMy whole family is crazy about the TV show LOST. So when last Christmas came around and I saw LOST The Board Game, I naturally had to buy it for my brother. He loves board games and we play something every time we visit, so I thought this would fit right in. Overall, it is a fun game if you are as crazy about LOST as we are. If you're not that big of a fan, don't bother even trying.
It took us a long time to figure out how to play LOST. It took about an hour just get understand the rules and set the board up properly. We even had to go online to get more clarification. The online site has a forum which came in handy when figuring it all out.
The object of the game is to go around the board pieces, turning them over when you first land on them, and following the directions it has written on it. As you go, you have the opportunity to gain more characters on your team. In the end, you want to fight other players and gain control of all the characters. There are many different situations and cards that complicates this task, and honestly confuse us more than anything. When this happens, we usually just make up our own rules.
The game is most fun in the beginning when you are turning over the board pieces. After that it gets a bit boring. I don't think we have really ever finished a game. We just like playing it for a while because we love LOST so much.

Good to know - I think I'll stick with the TV show.
I've played some games where it took 2 days to figure out the rules before you could even start the game. With few exceptions, they weren't worth the trouble.
I'm glad to hear your experience with this game, I might otherwise have been tempted to buy it.
How frustrating is this? Board games should be relaxing and enjoyable, not an exercise in just trying to get off first base. This is very disappointing Kakoa.
Sounds like the game is as hard to figure out as the show :-)
We love the show Lost as well but it doesn't sound like the game is as great as the show. There are SO many aspects to the Lost story and so many small details...I would imagine the game would be just as complicated.
An hour to figure out the rules? My family would give up after 15 minutes.
I am a big fan of LOST. This sounds like a very interesting game. I might have to give it a try.
I had to laugh when you said that when it gets really confusing you just make up your own rules as it sounds like something that I would do! Your rules are probably more fun too!
This board game sounds just as confusing as the TV show....LOL
