Ltx Tires By jb_shops on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have personally used this line of tires on two different vehicles and have family members that have shared similar experiences. These tires are more expensive than the other options available around $12 - 20 per tire. This extra upfront costs pay-off with the extra useful life. I'm defining useful life as both tread-wear and ride / traction performance.
The tread pattern is aggressive enough to provide additional traction in mild off-road environments, but not as much as a "mud & snow" tire.
Some of my friends and family has expressed frustrations of the tire noise on their vehicles, I have not experienced the same negative sound characteristics.
In comparison to the original equipment Goodyear Eagles LS and the Firestones, this is a fine product.
Michelin LTX Purchased at: Discount Tire Price: 189.00 /tire

I agree 100% They are what I use as well : )
Do you mean $12-$20 more than the other tires? If they only cost that much, I want some!
Sounds like great tires but I wouldn't want to hear them while driving down the road.
Oh, I can't stand a noisey tire...I'll have to steer clear of this one:0)
it's always good to have lots of information when you go tire shopping, so thanks!
We like using Discount Tire for our tire purchases. I've heard about the noise problems with some tires, not sure if this is the tire or vehicle, frustrating though! Thanks for sharing your experience with these tires!
David, my husband, swore by these tires. He said they improved not only the ride, but also increased fuel efficiency. I asked a mechanic about this and he said good tires do increase fuel efficiency and the overall wear on the car.
I appreciate the comparison to other brands.
Thanks for the personal testimony. Sounds expensive, but the value shows up in the long run!
