LUCKY DUCKS GAME
By sconf onMy toddler son loves to play the Pick a Duck type games at amusement parks and carnivals, so when we saw the Lucky Ducks game, we thought this would be something he would love. And he did!!!The game contains a battery operated (requires 2 C batteries) duck pond with "moving" water that you place 12 plastic ducks on.To start the pond, you just simply push the button in the middle, very easy for young children. However, I do wish there was an actual on/off switch! The ducks move around the pond, quacking loudly as they go (which can get quite annoying to adult ears, but my son enjoyed it a lot and even quacked along!)Each duck has a colored spot on the bottom.(The newer version has a colored shape for even more learning possibilities.)To begin, each player chooses a colored pond card (there are 4 cards, each with a different color - red, blue, green and yellow). When it is your turn, you choose any duck from the moving pond and see if the color on the bottom matches the color on your pond card.If it does, you place the duck on your pond card, and the next player takes a turn.If it doesn't match, the duck is placed back on the moving pond and then the next player takes a turn. The first player to collect all three of their ducks is the winner. My son enjoys playing this game over and over.He also enjoys just playing on his own with the moving ducks and watching them go around the pond. The game is recommended for ages 3 and up, however, we got this game when our son had just turned 2, and he could play the game with minimal guidance. One word of caution, this game is a big pain to put away. The ducks only fit back in the box a certain way (3 to a corner). You also cannot place anything on top of the box lid or it will cause the moving pond to start up.Overall, Lucky Ducks is a fun game for young children!
