Reviewing: Campground State Park

Ludington State park in Ludington Michigan is a wonderful place for family camping. The park has 3 "camp loops" depending on what you are looking for and almost 400 campsites. The first loop is Pines, located next to the beach. It is sandy, shaded and within walking distance of the sand dunes. The 2nd loop is Cedar. It is grassy, sunny and ideal for travle trailers. Cedar also hosts the camp store and bike rental. The last loop is Beachwood. This one is shady and hilly, mostly dirt sites. Each camp loop also has a minicabin that can be rented for the night/ week.

Ludington State park is boardered by Lake Michigan to the left, the sauble river runs thru it and Hamlin Lake is on its right side. Some sites in Beachwood are on the waters leading to Hamlin Lake.

The park boasts many hiking trails that may be used for cross country skiing in the winter, there are a couple of warm up shelters out on the trails. Also the park is open in areas to hunting and traping.
