Lulu Good Opton For Cheap Self Publishing By BillF on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I self published a book on a technical topic in which I had been teaching, speaking, researching, and writing for over 10 years. I researched a number of book self publishing services and found lulu the cheapest. Most of its competitiors tend to have full service packages from $600 to 1500 editing, formating, printing, and marketing. Lulu is on internet and much cheaper for small quantities in its seperate service pricing. I ended up paying for editing, formating, and printing (about $300 in all). the printing was good. They offer a list of suppliers for non prining services. My complaints is the required format. I found the suppliers value resonable but realy tough for a new author to analyze all there needs up front. I found marketing extremly difficlult from my personality and my self marketing in a number of avenues provided ineffective results. I am getting ready to publish a book revision and find the formating issue a major handicap.

Good to know! Been comparing this to the Amazon service. If you find something you like better PLEASE let me know!
