This collar is two collars in one: it has two D-rings on it, and one acts like a choke collar when you put a leash on it, while the other one is a simple no-tension ring like a traditional collar. These collars are made out of a sturdy but comfortable canvas-like material that wears very well.

Lupine collars have a lifetime guarantee: if the collar is chewed it is replaced for free. This seems a bit counter-intuitive as it's difficult for a dog to chew a collar that's around his or her neck, but this guarantee is for all their products including harnesses and leashes. I got a free replacement leash when I left my dog tied on her leash for 15 minutes and she chewed the leash. It's nice to know that the company stands behind their products.

These collars are available in several different widths and lengths, but the best part is the variety of patterns you can choose from. I love being able to replace my dog's collar when it needs it and get a fresh new print.

My only complaint about this Martingale collar is that I have to loosen it to get it off my dog, and then tighten it up again once it's over her head. But I can't tell you how many times I've been thankful that I had the versatility of two collars in one: when walking your dog the fact that the collar will tighten if she pulls is a great way to not only let her know that she's doing something inappropriate but also to give you the peace of mind that she won't be able to pull out of her collar. These leashes are durable and will last you and your dog for a long time.
