Lush Emperor Of Ice Cream Buttercream By Cindy Leggett on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My first experience with Lush's line of Buttercreams was with the Emporer of Ice Cream scent. A Buttercream is 15% soap, and 85% natural oils, butters, and plant infusions. Left at room temperature, a Buttercream sounds like its name - smooth and slippery, like real butter, or maybe squishy soap! If placed in the freezer for a time, they turn into a nice block of soap. The 7 ounce variety I tried contained Vanilla Pod, Orange Blossom Honey, Cocoa Butter, Macadamia Nut Oil, Mango, Shea, and Coconut Butters, rose, and lavender. Sounds... and smells... good enough to eat! The scent sort of reminds me of something tropical, but it's not a strong, overpowering scent, even though it stays on your skin all day and into the next. You really get your money's worth with this product, as you can use it in the shower or bath as a soap, OR use it as a moisturizer before drying yourself off. Either way, your skin will be very soft, smooth, and sweet-scented. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed using this product, as at first I was a bit put off by the softness of it. It firms up nicely in the freezer though, so now I'm solf on Buttercreams, and plan to try some in other scents.
