Machine Head Burn My Eyes By Nicholas Harrell on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

As Robb Flynn says in the first track of this cd, "Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast". This heavily thrash influenced band brought a lot to the table with their debut cd. When I first heard this I was instantly drawn in to the heavy riffs and robb's vocals. Robb being in an older thrash band from the area called Vio-lence, he took a bit of that sound and fused it with more extreme metal. They took a great sound, and expanded on it even more with political and social lyrics about drug use, racism, hate, and the general ways of the california area. Stand out tracks would have to be Davidian, Old, Im Your God Now, and Block. I personally consider this to be one of the best albums in the 90s, and definitely the best by Machine Head. Give it a spin and see how it grows on you. You won't regret it.
