When my iBook power adapter died after two years I was really in a jam since I work from home on my laptop.I managed to make the adapter last long enough for me to work until my MegaMacs.com power adapter arrived by stripping the wires and twisting them together, but it was really inconvenient since the computer had to be immobilized on a chair next to the bed to keep the connection. Now that my MacWizards.com adapter is here I am thrilled.I decided to buy an off-brand adapter because it was FAR cheaper and the Apple adapter had less than rave reviews because of the same problem I experienced with it (the wires fray and eventually snap apart where the adapter connects into the computer in a matter of a year or less. This new adapter is so much sturdier. The plastic coating on the wires is heavier duty and the plug that goes into the wall is a straight forward plug, rather than a plug whose prongs flip in and out of the adapter (which made it hard to plug into the wall and keep plugged in).Even with two day shipping, the adapter was $30 cheaper than the Apple brand adapter and so I would HIGHLY recommend this adapter to anyone looking for a replacement. The only thing I don't like about this adapter over the Apple adapter is the missing light where the adapter plugs into the computer that let me know that it was working, and then turned orange when it was actually charging the computer. That, and the cord is a little shorter so to speak because the maid part of the adapter is in the middle of the cord instead of being right where the adapter plugs into the wall.

Overall it sounds like a decent adapter. I do not think they make a perfect adapter to any computer equipment. They all seem to have a drawback or two. Thanks for sharing the information.

I need one of these! I got my first iBook in 2002, then a PowerBook in 2004, which I still use. I think I'm on my 4th power cord, and they are twice as expensive as this one.
