Madonna Cd Remixed And Revisited By nightwing on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This is an odd disc. It came out shortly after her American Life disc, and the poor public and critical reaction to that CD.

The CD features seven tracks, none of which are new recordings. The disc starts off with four remixes of songs from the American Life disc. Interestingly, these remixes are really quite interesting and bring to life songs that I was previously ambivalent toward when originally released. I specifically enjoy the remixes of American Life and Love Profusion. American Life in particular is fantastic here. Reworked to be a rock song this song is exciting and fresh sounding. I wish they had released a remix version of that complete album.

Also included here is the performance of Like a Virgin/Hollywood Medley from the MTV Video Music Awards. The song features Madonna along with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Missy Elliot. The song is good, but the real excitement was in watching the performance so the audio isn't anything to get too excited about.

Into the Hollywood Groove is the song that Madonna performed with Missy Elliot in their Gap ads. It is interesting and sort of fun, but the fact that that at one point Missy starts rapping about Gap jeans kind of kills it for me. The song doesn't hold a candle next to the original Into the Groove.

Your Honesty is a song that was previously recorded but never made it to any of her albums. It's not a particularly memorable song.

I would only recommend this disc to hardcore Madonna fans.
