Magic Bullet Express By Mom2One on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have been wanting the Magic Bullet ever since I first saw it on a TV. I received it as a gift last Christmas. For the most part it is OK, but I have found some problems with it.

First I use this all the time making smoothies and milkshakes. This little machine is perfect for that. I can not get my son to eat fruit, but he loves smoothies. So I make smoothies using fresh fruit like strawberries, raspberries, peaches, etc. I just throw the fruit in the Magic Bullet, add ice and sometimes yogurt or other items and turn on the Magic Bullet and I have a fresh smoothie that my son enjoys and he is getting his daily fruit in! I also like the milkshakes it makes. Even those you can turn them into something healthy by adding fresh strawberries or other fruits.

The other plus is the cup it is mixed in is also the drinking glass so less clean up.

It is small enough to fit on the counter without looking out of place or taking up too much space.

Now, the bad. I tried chopping onions in this machine once. It did not work too well. It didn't really chop the onions but more like puree the onions. I also tried green peppers and the same thing happened. So I feel the machine is not very good at chopping up vegetables. I haven't tried any other veggies since the peppers and onions.

I also found that over time the spinner seems to get worn out and the blades looses their effectivness. I have been looking on line for replacement parts and I can not find any. It seems like you have to buy a brand new system. I wish you could order parts.

I do like the machine for the smoothies and milkshakes it makes, but it does not do a good job at chopping vegetables.

I have seen this on tv and in the stores. I always thought it was a bit overpriced for what you could actually do with it. I like my blender better I think :)

I have seen this at CVS. I was thinking about getting it. It is a little costly though. You are not the first to tell about the blades wearing down. I think I will wait on this product thanks for the information.

My mom has one of these and loved it when she first got it, but now it is sitting on the shelf with her eggstractor and food hydrator! I think if you are sure you are going to use it alot, this is a good buy, but probably not for the casual blender user like myself who only makes an ccasional margarita or mudslide, lol.

LOL, this sounds much less painful than yesterday when I made my son stay in his chair at lunch for 30 minutes until he ate either a slice of orange or a strawberry!.
