Magic The Gathering: Allosaurus Rider Prerelease By Doraemon on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Expansions to complete block cycles are usually released three months after the preceeding expansion has been released. This case was different however, was different as it took about a decade before Coldsnap was released. Coldsnap was an expansion for the Ice Age block. The set had a nice theme but was very disappointing in terms of power levels. It is a very weak set and as a result not as much product was opened.

The spotlight on this particular review is on the prerelease card of the set which was the Allosaurus Rider. The art here is different and is much better than the Allosaurus Riders found in packs. Also the card gets the special foil treatment. You could get copies of this card when joining prerelease tournaments. The card art is cool and reminds me of the Dinoriders cartoon where humans had dinosaurs as steeds.

At only $2.50 this card is very much affordable and would go nicely in the toploader or binder that you use to store your collection.
