Fireball was a good card. It could deal X damage to any target. Aside from that it's damage could be divided into multiple targets. You could target multiple players or creatures at the same time. Later, Wizards of the Coast developed Pyrotechnics which was a five to cast card which dealt damage up to four targets. This was a very good card but costed too much. You might be looking at a pack of creatures before you get enough mana to cast it. Wizards then released Urza's Saga it released a card called Arc Lightning.
Arc Lightning could deal three damage to multiple targets. Imagine one of these babies could kill three Savanah Lions in one fell swoop. It could also deal three damage straight to a player. This card is very flexible.
This particular version is a foil before foils became massively produced. Its a nice piece to add to your collection for a mere $4.00. I recommend that you get one. Its nice and shiny.
