Magic Tree House Books Are Fun And Educational! By JenniferB on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

One of my son's favorite book series to read is the Magic Tree House books by Mary Pope Osborne. He has done more reading since finding this book series and of course this thrills us! I enjoy reading with him and can see why they hold his interest. Each book focuses on something in history such as a time period, city, or event. The main characters travel through time via a tree house and have to solve a riddle or mystery in order to return home. A few of my favorite books that I have enjoyed reading with my son are The Knight at Dawn, Night of the Ninjas, and Dingoes at Dinnertime. I especially liked Dingoes at Dinnertime because it focuses on Australia and teaches about the land and culture and my brother currently lives there. The Magic Tree House book series is wonderful for beginning chapter readers and it is educational too!

Its not just a boys favorite book! My nine year old daughter loves these books, and they are worth some AR points in school so that's a bonus.
