I was looking for a new DVD player when my old DVD/VCR quit playing new movies. I was at the store when I saw this DVD recorder. I thought not only will it play movies it will record them making the need for both a DVD and a VCR unnecessary. This is a Magnavox DVD Recorder w/ Digital Tuner. It seems to be a nice DVD recorder.
It supports DVD+R/+RW for playing and recording, DVD-R/-RW for playing and recording and CD-R for playing. The formats it supports are DVD video, Video CD, MP3 and CD-DA.
Some of the other features are that it records up to 8 hours in the SLP mode, has an integrated ATSC digital tuner for HD, it works with up to 16x disc speed and it automatically finalizes. This recorder is about 13 inches long and weighs 6.95 lb.
Overall I have only used this to record and play back and it seems to do a good job. I am happy with this DVD recorder. I have not tried its audio abilities with regards to music as I did not buy it for that.
We purchased one of these at least 4 years ago and it still works great. It's also been shuffled from room to room when the kids have wanted to watch movies in different areas of the house and so far it still plays and records just fine. Thanks for the info
