Main, Tail And Body Shampoo For Humans Too! By jayjay1113 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

OKay I have to admit that I am a Product Junkie (PJ) when it comes to hair products and this shampoo was a 'bandwagon' purchase. There are many equine lines of hair products out there that are considered cross-over (safe for human use) and Lucky Kentucky's Mane, Tail and Body Shampoo is one of them.

What I like about this shampoo is that it moisturizes and has an added ingredient called 'Miracle Shiner'. It lathers quickly and rinses out easily. It's what my hair feels like afterwards that I really don't like.

What I don't like are some of the ingredients, particularly Ammonium Laureth Sulfate (ALS) which is a harsh chemical used in some household sleaning products like dish soap and is the third ingredient on the list. ALS is very harsh on the hair. It will strip all product build up and oils. If you have dry hair, like I do, you'll want to avoid shampoos with ALS and/or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) in them. I just don't like my hair feeling like straw after I use this shampoo. This is a main reason why I no longer use this shampoo.

If you have oily hair, then maybe this shampoo would be good for you as it will cleanse the hair thoroughly. However, if you have dry or damaged hair, do not use this shampoo!
