Mamma Mia By Rae777 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Mamma Mia is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Catherine Johnson. The executive producers of this movie were Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson. The other producers of this movie were the two male members of ABBA. Mamma Mia stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Amanda Seyfried and Christine Baranski. This movie uses all ABBA music. ABBA was a pop group who had hits throughout the seventies and eighties. They had hits such as Mamma Mia, SOS, Dancing Queen and Waterloo.

The plot of the movie is the story of a young girl getting married but before she does she wants to know who her father is. She has read her mother's diary so she knows it's one of three men. Without her mother's knowledge, she invites the three men to her wedding and this leads to a lot of singing and some laughs.

This movie is rated PG 13 for some sex related conversation

This movie does have some fun extras such as the ability to put the words on the screen so one can sing along.

This movie is good. The casting could have been a little better. Actors and actresses were cast in this movie that are not known as singers so the singing is only fair. In my opinion, Streep overacts while she's trying to sing.
