We have a Marathon Fleet Card for our dump truck business. We picked the Marathon card due to a unique feature in which the cards are linked to each vehicle you own and not an individual person. You can have up to 9,999 cards per account at no charge. This makes it possible for us to keep track of the fuel usage for each vehicle and if we change drivers the card can be used by anyone driving that vehicle. The card can be used for personal use, so we also carry one for our personal vehicles. Each card has it's own pin number, to protect the card from fraud. If we would happen to have a driver loose the card or quit without returning the card, it can be easily terminated from the website. There is also a fuel only option you can request, so that nothing other than fuel can be purchased with the card, eliminating the driver from picking up a snack or beverage on your dime while he is fueling up.

There is also a rebate program, which is as follows:

1,001 - 2,000 gallons save $.01 per gal. 2,001 - 5,000 gallons save $.015 per gal. 5,001 - 10,000 gallons save $.02 per gal. 10,001+ gallons save $.03 per gal. The company has online and paper statements that give a breakdown of each card with the date of use, time, type of fuel, gallons, cost per gallon and cost. This makes it so easy for us to keep track of our spending and we can track it every day online if we need to. This also eliminates the problem of lost receipts. There is no minimum balance, the monthly total needs to be paid entirely by the next due date, which is every 31 days. There is also a $10 minimum monthly fee for the account, but no yearly fee.

The only drawback is that the card can only be used at Marathon stations, so you might want to check the availability of stations in your area before you apply for a card.
