Marc Jacobs - Daisy

Reviewing: Marc Jacobs Daisy

I have to say that the packaging of this is gorgeous. The flowers glued to the lid are so cute and summery and happy - I wanted to like this as soon as I saw it.

Unfortunately, the scent itself can't live up to the nice packaging. What we have here is a fairly generic, light, breezy floral. No particular note stands out; it certainly doesn't smell like daisies, which, trust me, is a good thing. But I would have liked it to have at least a few distinguishing features. Instead, this smells rather like shampoo. You know that sweet, feminine, vaguely floral scent that a lot of shampoos have? It's not necessarily a cheap or soapy smell, just a bit too generic for me. I like my perfumes to have a bit more bite to them - something out-of-the-ordinary. However, I will say that Daisy is better than most of the watery, insipid celebrity fragrances out there. If I smell it on every teenage girl I walk past this summer, my nose won't be too offended.
