My husband and I recently had a wonderful vacation at The Marco Beach Ocean Resort located on Marco Island, Florida. The Island is on the Gulf Coast of Florida.

We spent the last week of August there, to which many people have commented, "What? Florida in August? Are you nuts?" While people would, understandably, expect Florida to be extremely humid that time of year, the truth is that it couldn't have been more lovely! The hotel is located right on the beach. and the constant breeze from the ocean kept the tempurature quite comfortable. Also, being right on the ocean, if things did get too hot, a dip in the beautiful, clean, clear water of the Gulf of Mexica took care of it. In fact, while swimming in the ocean, a family of dolphins swam right past us. Neat!

The hotel was pristine and kept clean at all times. Housekeeping visited each room twice a day. The turn down service included fresh towels and a mint for each of us. I can honestly say it is probably the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in.

While the restaurants in the hotel were pricey, there are many choices of places to eat within walking distance that were very reasonably priced. And since the rooms are suites with kitchens, bringing leftovers back to the hotel was great. We'd often get two dinners for the price of one.

I highly recommend this hotel and we plan on going back there again ourselves.
