Marie Claire Magazine By Monica Cruz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I loved this magazine before the new editor came along within the past year or so. Since then it seems like the substance of this magazine has gone downhill. There's less articles about fashion, beauty, and health and more articles about women's rights, third world countries, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I think these issues are relevant and important, but it's a bit too much for a "women's interest" magazine. Marie Claire has a lot of competition in this genre, such as Glamour magazine, who includes those "serious" articles, but still has lots of fun women's articles to read.

Marie Claire also lacks bulk in their magazine. Just pick one up at Wal-Mart, and you will see it is significantly thinner than other magazines. For the price this magazine costs you'd be better off buying Glamour, Cosmopolitan, or even Women's Day.
