Martial Arts Sword By Mom2One on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
My son has had this sword for about 2 years now. The technical name for it is a Kendo Shinai, or what people tend to think of a Samurai Sword.
This sword is made out of bamboo and it has a leather covered handle. It has a blunt point so it is perfect for the beginner student.
The blunt point is covered with a leather coating so protect the sword.
I was not sure how the bamboo would hold up to the continual hit of other swords during class, but after 2 years my son's sword has no cracks and the bamboo has held up very well.
Like all martial arts weapons this is not a toy and one should only purchase one if you have martial arts training.
This sword is light weight also which helps my son move the sword easily and learn how to sword fight the other person.
I feel this martial arts sword is a good bargain at $29.99. They come in 3 different sizes of lengths depending on the size of the person. My son has used his for 2 years now and has had his share of sword fights in class yet the sword looks as good as new.

I am shocked at how durable this martial arts sword is! That is amazing! Thanks for all of the great details!
Martial arts offers children tremendous training in developing and using internal senses and controls on emotions, instills confidence and creates more stable human beings. I love these Kendo's for training.
My hubby and both sons would love this! They all 3 collect swords and our youngest in wanting to take some form of Martial Arts.
My 2nd oldest son collects swords such as this, it's been a few years since he was in Martial Arts but he still is very much interested in the sport. Thanks for the info, great reveiw.
Never heard of these, sound real cool for the sword collector.
