Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World By Shawn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Based on a novel, Master and Commander is an exceptional film that manages to morph into the past as few films do. Russell Crowe portrays Jack Aubrey exceptionally and it can easily be considered one of his top five roles to date. The film takes place almost exclusively at sea and due to detail oriented filmmaking there will be times you where might become aware of the sway of the ship and the motion of the waves, which might actually be to the chagrin of some viewers.

Feature wise the DVD manages to boast enough special features to keep viewers interested a decent amount of time after the film is finished. However, there's nothing to truly jump out of your seat about, though there's enough to keep most people satisfied.

If you're looking into purchasing Master and Commander, then the odds are its because you enjoyed the film and aren't looking for the host of special features.
