Maternity Belly Bra...Just Okay By Sarahlovesmickey on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I bought this during my third pregnancy because my friend swore by it's comfort and ability to alleve back pain. I purchased it at Target for around $25.
I purchased the white Maternity Belly Bra, but there is also a nude color and black color available. There are four different sizes ranging from small to XXlarge, depending on your bust size.
I honestly thought this would be an awesome product and at first, it was good. It is made out of a nylon material primarily, but does have some spandex in it as well. There is a bra built right into it; however, I found the bra to be a little bit itchy. Also, the thick shoulder straps made it impossible to wear some shirts because you could see the straps.
One pro about this product is that you can just throw it in the washer and dryer. I would never purchase another one of these because honestly, it didn't really alleve my back pain at all and it was not the most comfortable thing to wear, especially in the summer in your third trimester. Need I say more?
not sure Maternity Belly Bra Purchased at: Target Price: $25

thanks Alice...yeah, maybe it was just me, but this just didn't do it for me.
I have never heard of these. It sounds like a really good idea, but needs a little work to be perfect. I can not say if I would have tried these when I was pregnant or not.
I'll have to show this to a friend of mine...she's about 19 1/2 weeks along...she might like to give it a try
Ugh, I can't imagine trying to wear that in the summer - pregnant or not. Might have been worth it if it had helped with back pain though.
I've been having the back pain (I'm 7 mos.) and the doc suggested something like this. Now I'm not so sure! You're right, I think you reach a certain point in the pregnancy that nothing can help you! Thanks for sharing.
I can imagine this not being fun to wear in the dog days of summer during the third trimester-ick!
You'd think they would have offered this in COTTON and spandex! At least cotton is breathable and non itchy Sarah. This sounds atrociously uncomfortable.
So glad to get a head up on this one. I was thinking I should own it but I will just have to pass on it now. You just saved me $25!
I couldn't imagine that it would be that comfortable to wear like you said especially in the summer. I was always hot when pregnant and to add another layer would have been awful. I'm sorry that it didn't alleviate your back pain. At the end of the long 9 months, I guess we just have to have some back pain.
I thought about buying this, I guess I'm glad I didn't!
