Mc Lane Reel Mower, Real Good By 999frights on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

After burning my grass so much with my regular mower, I decided to purchase a Reel mower. I have Bermuda grass and after researching, found that a reel mower is the way to go. I bought this McLane used off Ebay and it was a bargain. I love this mower because now I have really green grass and one of the best yards in the neighborhood.

My mower is self Propelled and easy to push. It is very powerful. McLane Reel mowers come with a Briggs and Stratton engine or a Honda engine. Mine has a Honda engine. My only complaints are that the bag is hard to dump and the front wheels are stationary. I wish the wheels would turn, but to get that I would have to buy an expensive Tru Cut.

I have had this for just over a year and have never had any problems with it. This summer, I did spend $100 to have tuned up and the blades sharpened. This is an expense you should expect if you purchase a reel mower. I plan on having it serviced once a year.

You got an amazing deal! I have never seen one cheaper than $700. Was this from a golf course? How wide is the mower?
