Mead Press It Seal It Envelopes By Steven Rupp on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The new Mead "Press It/Seal It" envelopes have a great new feature that eliminates the very thing I hate about using envelopes - licking the awful glue to seal them!
They come with an adhesive strip where the glue used to be. You just peel off the thin plasic cover to expose the sticky area, fold the flap over, press, and it forms a tight seal from edge to edge! No more terrible tasting glue that leaves a bad aftertaste in your mouth, and the opportunity to get a papercut on your tongue or your lips. And they never seem to seal well anyway. I always end up having to reinforce a peeled up flap edge with spit or even tape!
It's not just the adhesive sealing strip that has me sold on these though. Mead is one of the best brand names in this area so the envelopes themselves are top quality. And the value is unbeatable - (80) #10 envelopes for only $2.00!
I discovered these gems at Dollar General, but being that Mead is such a famous brand, I imagine that these can be found wherever stationery/supplies are sold.

Handy things. Would be nice to know how many you get for the $2.
Awesome to know. I hate licking those envelopes!
What a great price! I think you can find these at most any store but at that price I think Dollar General is the place to go! I hate licking envelopes too. You are right, they never seem to stick and we end up spending money with the extra tape we have to use to secure the seal.
