Mechanical Pencils By karlawmcdonald on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
My oldest son introduced these pencils to us after purchasing some at his high school supply store, at first I did not think they would be of much use and thought he had wasted his money, now these are the only pencils we will use.
You can get a pack of 10 for under $2.00 and they come in a variety of colors. They are easy to handle and you no longer have to worry with a messy pencil sharpener or pencil shavings.
Each pencil comes with 3 leads to it, one Bic Mechanical Pencil equals 2 1/2 wood case pencils. The leads come in various sizes and can be bought at most any store that carries pens and pencils. the size we use is equivalent to the #2 pencils most teachers require. They are also called medium and are 0.7 mm.
If you have not tried these yet, go for it, you might be pleasantly surprised like I was.
Bic 90576 Purchased at: Wal-Mart Price: $1.97

I didn't realize mechanical pencils were so inexpensive!!! I love using them!
My grandson uses these instead of the regular pencils.
