Medieval Times Myrtle Beach By Lindy Smith on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My sister came down to visit us last weekend and I wanted to do something fun and different while she was here. There is a plethora of things to do in Myrtle Beach and although I've heard about Medieval Times, I've never actually been there. I've heard it's a little expensive and it is, but it's worth every cent. Medieval Times is a theme restaurant that simulates being in a time when kings, queens, and knights ruled the lands. There are a lot of concessions such as tiaras for your princesses and swords for your knights at home. They are kind of expensive, but again, the experience is great for the whole family. When you arrive, you're assigned a color and a table. The color represents the knight you'll be cheering for during the tournament and the table is where you'll be eating. When you enter the dining hall, you are presented with the menu. There is nothing to choose from, you get bread, soup, chicken, a spare rib, a potato, a pastry, and a drink. Although there's no choice, the meal is delicious and filling. Also, since it takes place during a time when silverware hadn't been invented yet, you have to eat everything with your hands. For one of my girls, this was cool, for the other, she doesn't like to get messy and wouldn't eat much. The show is amazing with jousts, swordfights, live horses, and a vast assortment of other weapons. The tournament lasts about an hour and a half and it's a lot of fun cheering your knight on and booing the other knights. The whole family loved going to Medieval Times. An excellent meal and a lot of fun. Well worth the price of admission!!!
