Mediocre TV Tuner

I bought this TV tuner about 2 year ago because it was quite cheap. I believe I paid about $10 after rebates. This is one of those things where you get what you pay for.

The picture quality is mediocre. Its neither good nor bad. Its perfectly watchable, but its not crisp and clear. The audio and video both work fine. They are synchronized well and all of that too.

Via an included adapter, you can get S-Video and Composite inputs. The quality of those inputs is about the same as the TV quality. A nice feature is the radio tuner on board. So you can connect to a radio antenna and get radio on your computer. The problem is that the radio jack is RCA, which isnt convenient. You can solder a wire across to the coax connection and use that as a radio antenna hook up. Its fairly easy to do, but you have to know how to solder at least somewhat.

The tuner comes with a remote, but its an awkward shape and by far nothing amazing. It has lots of buttons, so that may be positive or negative for you. I havent actually used the remote, so I cant say how functional it is.

If you just need a cheap tuner for a computer, this might not be a bad choice. But if you need quality, stay far away.

Yeah I always look for the best deal but it's true that sometimes you get what you paid for. So sorry this doesn't work for you. Thanks for so much great information!
