Megadeth United Abominations By Nicholas Harrell on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Megadeth's so called "return to form" falls short. I had such high hopes for this album. After the disappointing System Has Failed, Dave redid the line up, adding new guitar, bass, and drummer to the band. After hearing the demo for the track Gears of War, I was excited to hear the rest. Then I heard Sleepwalker, a great thrash track. My hopes were still there. Then I bought the album. Short of those 2 tracks, and Washington is Next, this cd is a stinker. Very generic tracks, with little structure. No sign of Megadeth of the past. The 3 tracks listed though are great on their own. But in between is all filler, with little or no catchy tracks. I feel bad for Dave. Even a die hard megadeth fan like me would have to say let this one pass.
