Melissa Doug Animal Sounds Puzzle

When I was shopping for my daughter's birthday I knew I wanted something fun yet educational. I decided puzzles would fit this description and started my research. During that research I came across some pretty cool puzzles made by Melissa & Doug. The puzzles they sell are all educational in some form so I knew this was the right brand. Since my daughter and I are working on animal sounds currently I found the perfect puzzle for her, the puzzle contains all the "normal" farm animals including horse, pig, cow, rooster and a few others. When the puzzle pieces are removed and replaced the puzzle piece "speaks" or makes the appropriate animal sound. Very cute idea....not so cute animal sounds. Although I am not quite sure what I was expecting but the animal sounds that this puzzle provides were quite a let down. The puzzle in itself is not a total waste as it still "works" as a puzzle but I purchased a puzzle with sound and I was very disappointed that my daughter and I were not getting the product we purchased.

Conclusion: Overall it is a cute puzzle, the animals look very real, the puzzle is wood and well made but I think I would have been happier to buy the "same" puzzle without the sound and at the same time paid less because after all then it was just a "puzzle".
